4th April 2017 - AGM
The final meeting of the season was the Annual General Meeting chaired by the Club's Life President and founder member, Cliff Paulson who, for the club's 60'th anniversary season, also took on the role of Chairman. The other officers for 2017/18 are John Fox (Vice Chairman and Equipment Officer), Les Lewis (Secretary) and David Oldale (Treasurer). Elected to the committee were Doreen Williamson and Stuart Daffin. It was announced with acclaim that the club's Vice President, Lillian Johnson, was celebrating her 100th birthday on the same day of the meeting. Chesterfield Film Makers will have a few occasional meetings of a social nature during the summer and return to their regular Tuesday evening meetings in September.
28th March 2017 - Film on a Theme - This year's theme is "TIME"
Members enjoyed their annual efforts to make short films to a theme set by the Chairman. This year the theme was'Time' and there was an excellent selection of videos from Larry Hall, Malcolm Calow, Fabio Bezoari, John Fox, Les Lewis and Colin Guest.
21st March 2017 - James Walton - Film Maker
Chesterfield Film Makers welcomed James Walton to a recent meeting at Walton Village Centre. James, a member of the Warrington Cine & Video Society, and prolific film maker, described his career in making short movies and illustrated his talk with a selection of his films.

13th March 2017 - MONDAY AFTERNOON South Yorkshire Competition - we host other clubs at Holymoorside Village Hall - Judged by Frank Parker
This year it was the turn of Chesterfield Film Makers to host the annual South Yorkshire Amateur Film Competition. The home club competed against clubs from Doncaster, Huddersfield and Sheffield at Holymoorside Village Hall. Each club presented a programme of no more than 20 minutes and the judge, Frank Parker, from the Cheadle and Gatley Film Makers praised the very high standard of entries. He awarded the tankard for the best programme to Doncaster, the goblet for Highly Commended to Huddersfield and the South Yorkshire Shield for best film to the home club Chesterfield. The winning film, made by member Larry Hall, is entitled 'A Dark Past' and tells the story of the Eyam plaque.

7th March 2017 - A / V & 1 Minute Film Competitions (See Competitions Guide)
Chesterfield Film Makers met at Walton Village Centre for their annual One Minute film competition. There were a total of eight entries from Malcolm Calow, Fabio Bezoari, Colin and Jenny Guest, Doreen Williamson, Les Lewis, Larry Hall and John Fox. The theme was to present, in a one minute film, which had to be an advert and the clear winner was Larry Hall for his advert for Exploda Bloc. The competition was judged by Peter Corderey who earlier also judged the annual AV competition. After much consideration he announced the winner as John Fox with his presentation 'Characters'. Others taking part included Colin & Jenny Guest, Elin Smith, Bob & Doreen Williamson and Larry Hall.

22nd February 2017 - WEDNESDAY At Sheffield Club for a 50 / 50 Competition
This meeting followed a visit the club made to Sheffield Movie Makers when each club presented a 45 minute programme, Chesterfield included films made by Les Lewis, Larry Hall, John Fox and David Oldale.

Members enjoyed participating in a lighthearted photographic quiz organised by members Bob and Doreen Williamson
7th February 2017 - D.C. Trophy Competition (See Competitions Guide)
Chesterfield Film Makers held their annual DC trophy competition for films of up to 5 minutes in length when they met at Walton Village Centre. Competing members were Colin Guest, Malcolm Calow, Larry Hall, John Fox and Fabio Bezoari. It was Fabio's entry, 'Castle or Fairy Tale' that was awarded the trophy by the judge and previous member, Elin Smith. Elin was warmly thanked by the Chairman, Colin Guest.
31st January 2017 - Michael Finney. A talk and medlay of documentaries
Members of Chesterfield Film Makers welcomed a visiting speaker, Michael Finney, from Sutton Coldfield Video Club to their meeting at Walton Village Centre. Michael, an award winning maker of short documentary films, brought along some of the equipment he made and uses to help him in his hobby and presented a number of films he had made over the last few years. He was thanked by Chairman, Colin Guest
24th January 2017 - An evening of two halves, presented by members Malcolm and Stuart
Two members shared the time by presenting their own photographic efforts. First on was Stuart Daffyn who presented examples of his still photos, many of which had received national recognition. In the second half of the evening, Malcolm Calow outlined his years of film making illustrated with examples of his productions.

10th January 2017 - Films from Raw footage - what can members produce from footage provided?
The footage was of Scarborough on a foggy day, provided by Larry Hall. Members produced varied and sometimes humorous films.

6th December 2016 - R&L Johnson Holiday Competition
Doreen Williamson, last year's winner, judged the annual holiday film competition for the R & L Johnson trophy. There were excellent entries from John Fox with a film entitled 'Rome' , Les Lewis with 'Two Cities' and the winning entry 'The Spirit of Yosemite' made by Fabio Bezoari.

11th October 2016 - An evening with Cliff
Chesterfield Film Makers President and founder member, Cliff Paulson, entertained members with films he had been involved in making since the club was founded nearly sixty years ago. He highlighted the progress in quality over that time and how equipment has improved for the amateur film maker. He was thanked by Chairman, Colin Guest.

4th October 2016 - R&E Smith Natural History Competition (See Competitions Guide)
The annual Natural History Film Competition was held. Films competing included those made by John Fox, Colin Guest, Les Lewis, Fabio Bezoari, Bob & Doreen Williamson, Cliff Paulson and Malcolm Calow. The beautifully carved trophy had been made some years ago by past member Ron Smith and given for annual competition by himself and his wife Elin, who this year judged the competition. She praised the standard of the films shown and presented the trophy to the Club's current Chairman, Colin Guest for his film 'Horizons New'. The Club always like to welcome anyone interested in amateur film making to their Tuesday evening meetings.

Chesterfield Film Makers have resumed their weekly meetings at Walton Village Centre after the summer break. There was a programme of films made by members during the summer. Those presenting were Malcolm Calow, Larry Hall, Les Lewis, Colin Guest, Cliff Paulson, Geoff and Brenda Burton, Bob and Doreen Williamson and Frank Rehling. Anyone interested in making short films will be made most welcome. The club meet at 7.30pm for 7.45.
